About Me

I've lived in a smallish town on the west coast of Florida since my dad retired from the Air Force when I was 7.  By day, I'm an office manager for a local contractor, and in my free time, I'm a lover of words and story.  I've always loved reading, and after having put my lifelong dreams of making my living as a professional novelist on hold for years, I am now happily diving back in.

Watch for my upcoming novel, Total Compliance, the first in a series of paranormal mysteries.  Total Compliance is a story of intrigue, suspense, and discovery.  Set in the late 1980's, it captures a retro feeling and takes readers back in time.  Writing it has been a new kind of challenge for me, as I've had to learn to "turn off" the part of my brain that houses common knowledge that did not exist then.  Every time I use a particular phrase or refer to specific laws or areas of research, I have to ask myself, "Ah, but did they know that then?"  I even had to rewrite my villain's choice of weapon when I found out it wouldn't have been available until two years after the story takes place.
